“Natural area makeover”, Day Two

The next day was cool and foggy. Since I had the camera out anyway, I took a shot or two of the pond:

Foggy morning

I finished digging the hole and laid carpet in there to protect the liner. Unless you’ve killed someone, you’ve probably never dug a hole by hand that’s 9×5!

She kept moving when I tried to cover her up

We got the water added, which is always a good thing…it keeps the dawgs out of the hole and proves that the hole is level (or shows you if it’s not).

Water in the hole

We did pretty well forming it up and only need a little more dirt on a couple of sides. Next, we’ll cut the liner (use the excess to make another one? or a container garden on the deck?) and add rocks, dirt, plants, fish, etc.
