They have clay tennis courts here at the condos which change the game a little bit. I haven’t played in a long time, but I played Beth a set today. She’s pretty good…but I’m not too old yet. 7-5, old man wins.

Blogging is pretty low on the list of things I want to do down here. It’s been good weather each day, with either the threat of or actual thunderstorms each afternoon. The water has been mostly clear, but today (Tuesday), it was perfectly clear with no trace of sea weed.

The plan for tomorrow is deep sea fishing on Live Wire. We will be out 6 hours (beginning at 6:30 am!) and are looking for dolphin or grouper. The captain caught a bunch of mackerel today…not my favorite. Thursday, Rhonda’s relatives from Destin are coming up for a day or two.

We’ve eaten some good stuff so far. I had excellent grouper parmesan at Grazie’s…I think my sister would even like that. Last night, we tried to get into Tacky Jack’s, but were not up to the hour and a half wait. We went across the street to Calypso Joe’s and I got really good dolphin with 4 shrimp on top sitting on a bed of rice and covered with sauce…fantastic!

We’re cooking in tonight…fresh shrimp.

Vacation Man is finally in his element. Nice condo, nice beach, but a whole lot of people (compared to St. George, not Destin). Beth and Skipper went to dinner at 8 last night and didn’t leave until 11:00.

Our condo is really nice, but it’s white. I’m getting flashbacks to Aunt Mary’s place in California. We’re on the 16th floor with a fantastic balcony. Rhonda is most impressed with the jacuzzi overlooking the Gulf.

Curt, what is this?

It was under the “dock” that Rhonda has out by the pond

Rhonda took some photos of her flowers that I posted on Flickr:

Some of you may remember this famous pic of Rhonda building a stone patio in our “natural area” (the area the builder chose not to landscape):

It’s nice when a plan works out. Rhonda’s vision was another sitting area for the backyard with some moss growing between the stones. Here’s what the patio looks like today:

Yup, I did it and I’m glad I did. Mowing the grass is pure pleasure.

Brad drove himself to dummer school Monday, so everything seems to be fine. He has a follow-up visit with the surgeon next Tuesday.

Brad is having flashbacks to his prior surgery…walking around holding a pillow to his chest. Predictably, that’s freaking Rhonda out also.

Here’s a picture of what they took out of his chest.

The Bar

No, you pinhead, the fork wasn’t in his chest…it’s for perspective

We are home and Brad is sleeping. We all got up at 4:30 this morning, so I might need a little nap myself. His Darvocet will have worn off by the time he awakens, so we’ll know then whether he’ll be in pain today.
