Rhonda wants to scarf down my salad, but I’m not ready to pick it yet. It’s only been a week…

We transplanted some rocket salad (also known as requette) and red sails lettuce in a basket on the back porch today. We added cilantro and parsley, with peach superbells for color.
Let’s see if they will produce enough for salads at Rhonda’s Halloween shindig….
We have an oak in front of the house that is surrounded by hard packed dirt. To top it off, it receives the brunt of dirt and rocks that wash down from the street and the house at the top of the hill. We’ve had a project to fix the issue for some time now. Here’s the before picture:

Stan from Southern Homes and Landscaping drew out a plan for nothing and did the work for a very reasonable price. Here’s some “after” pictures:

Due to the curse of Rhonda’s green thumb, the front flower beds were just about hiding the house. She trimmed most everything back so that it looks okay for now. We’ll cut it back pretty good next spring.

I don’t think anyone else in my family will be switching to AT&T. Cellular South’s unlimited plan is the only one that makes sense given these minutes used last month:

The strike is still ongoing, but I’m posting Flickr pics like crazy. Rhonda is in another Repeat Street commercial that was filmed at Lost Rabbit.
Rhonda, Beth, Tobi, Gracie and I took the boat out Sunday afternoon. Although the temperature was over 100 degrees, we were plenty cool as we drank tons of water and stayed in the water.

Brad is having an MRI in the morning to determine how much the curvature in his back has progressed. Beth is moving into the Cottages of Hattiesburg Wednesday. We visited with my parents yesterday and both are sick…Momma is bad sick with a hyperactive thyroid. There are some decisions to be made in the next few weeks about treatment. Finally, Carolyn and Mark are coming down this week.
Beth is back from Perdido today and is really happy that I taught Tobi to fetch in the water. A lot of dawgs can fetch, but Tobi can dive better than I can.
She does great fetching a stick. Unfortunately, she’s obsessed with Frisbees, to the point that she dove under water looking for it. We were all close to going in the pond to rescue her, but she surfaced, grabbed the Frisbee, and brought it on home. We were too nervous to get a photo.
I bought some replacement speakers for my Mac at home just because I wanted some extra room. The old speakers I had from the early 90’s had a sub-woofer that took up a whole cabinet in my teeny tiny office. I bought a pair of M-Audio Studiophile AV 40 speakers from Amazon that do *not* have a sub-woofer based on a recommendation from Scott Bourne on Macbreak Weekly. They sound absolutely fantastic. I turn off my Bose now and listen to the M-Audio speakers if I’m the only one listening to tunes.
